How often can you say you won a scholarship powered by the sun?

With Bullfrog's support, Transition Salt Spring installed an 84-panel solar system on the roof of Gulf Island Secondary School (GISS) in 2014. The energy cost savings from the project fund an annual scholarship for students pursuing sustainable trades or studies.

GISS grad Maia Beauvais (pictured) was recently announced as the first recipient of this scholarship. Congrats, Maia!
