Part 3: Policy innovations that support remote community energy projects 8:45 - 10:30 AM

Panelists will speak to policy challenges and opportunities that support integration of renewable energy, energy efficiency and related energy projects. Topics may include energy utility pricing and contracting, federal funding program design and implementation, and policies that support capacity building through skills development, awareness and education programs. Panelists are selected from communities, industry, government and academia/technology centres. Systems change framework is used to facilitate group discussions.

Technology showcase session (#1 - #5) 11 - 12:30 PM

Format: Breakout groups, parallel presentations
Location: Explorer Hotel, Katimavik A (2 groups), Katimavik B (2 groups) and Salon B
Audience: All delegates

This technology showcase is an opportunity for companies/organizations to present on selected technologies that are currently being showcased in research, early trial or actual project implementation. The presentations will focus on measures of success, commerciality and scale.

Looking to the future: supporting systems change 1:30 - 3 PM

Format: Facilitated group discussions, reporting back
Audience: All delegates

Three parallel breakout sessions (group discussions) are designed to synthesis outputs from Day 1 and 2 technology, socio-economic, and policy sessions. Participants choose one of three sessions to attend after which facilitators are required to report-back. Breakout sessions are asked to apply the systems change framework to address whether specific dimensions—policy, solutions and market capacity—are leading or lagging in specific or all Arctic and remote Canadian jurisdictions.
