On May 29th, Bullfrog Power hosted the fourth annual Sustainability Snapshot, an event dedicated to celebrating sustainability innovators in our community. Attendees enjoyed drinks and appetizers at the Gladstone Hotel as they listened to three short talks from forward-thinking Bullfrog partners.
Mike Murray, Director of Dresden Vision Canada, taught us that complex problems (a third of the global population needs glasses but can’t get them) can be solved by radical simplification (make glasses cheaper and better). His story inspired us never to settle for “that’s just the way it is.”
Christina Zeidler, President of the Gladstone Hotel, shared her philosophy of how art, sustainability, and business should coexist. We learned how art at the Gladstone is sparking conversations about everything from urban chicken farming to textile recycling.
Daniel Bida, Executive Director of ZooShare, explained how to turn discarded food and poo from the zoo into precious biogas and nutritious fertilizer. His takeaway? One person’s waste is another person’s resource.
