Here at Bullfrog, we've been busy this year helping community projects across Canada come onlinewith your support!

In fact, on a sunny day earlier this year, we helped celebrate the launch of SolShare Energy’s 23 kW rooftop array—the first co-operatively owned community solar project in B.C.! The array is located on the top of Vancouver Co-housing, which is the city’s first co-housing complex. The Bullfrog community provided financing for the construction of the project—check out this video of its launch.

OREC recognized for solar leadership

Congratulations to the Ottawa Renewable Energy Co-operative (OREC), which was recognized at the 2016 Powering Prosperity Awards for its work on the solar installation atop the École élémentaire et secondaire Maurice-Lapointe. The school's solar roof—which produces enough green electricity to power 21 homes per year—is also Ottawa’s 1,000th solar rooftop installation. Bullfrog partners with OREC to finance renewable projects in the provincelearn more about the co-op.


A bee-utiful partnership

This month, bullfrogpowered Earnest Ice Cream is collaborating with beekeeping non-profit Hives for Humanity for its newest ice cream flavour, Honey & Chamomile! The ice cream's distinct flavour comes from Hives for Humanity's locally sourced honeyin addition to chamomile flowers. Hives for Humanity, which encourages community connection through beekeeping, will be receiving 50% of the ice cream's proceeds. Pick up a pint today

Clean Energy Canada: The benefits of renewable energy projects in B.C.

In a recent blog post, Bullfrog partner Clean Energy Canada discusses the long-term economic and social benefits of building new renewable projects in B.C.which include low-impact hydro, wind and biomass facilities. According to Clean Energy Canada, increased investment in renewables could attract up to $5 billion in additional economic investment in B.C. Read on!
